How to write capital T
- Start at the top line and pull a tall downstroke to the baseline, finishing with a small curve.
- Lift and draw the curved cap across the top from left to right.
- Lift the pen; T does not join the next letter.
How to write lowercase t
- Start at the baseline and rise to just above the midline.
- Retrace down to the baseline and exit to the right.
- Cross the t at the midline after finishing the word.
Common mistakes
- A common slip is crossing t at the top of its stem instead of the midline, or crossing it before the word is finished.
- With the capital, learners try to join it to the next letter; T ends with a stroke that stops, so lift the pen and start the next letter fresh.
Joining t to other letters
The t exits from the baseline with a short upstroke that becomes the entry stroke of the next letter.
