Every font in fancy cursive category

Fancy is what people call a script with visible flourish: swashes on the capitals, long entry and exit strokes, loops that reach above and below the line. This list is filtered by measurement rather than taste. Every font here is a formal script whose swash extent is at least 0.35 of the em, which is the point where the flourishes start to dominate the letter body. Great Vibes and Allura sit at the readable end and work on cards and headings. Pinyon Script, Monsieur La Doulaise and Herr Von Muellerhoff are display faces: one line, large size, plenty of padding so the swashes are not clipped.

Flourish costs legibility

Check three things before you commit. Set the text at the size it will be used, not larger. Look at the capitals, which carry most of the ornament and can become unreadable in all-caps words. Give the export generous padding; the swash extent figure on each font page tells you how far the strokes reach beyond the letter box.

Fancy text for bios

For social bios and app names, fancy cursive is a copy-paste job rather than a font: the styles on the fancy text generator paste anywhere text is accepted. The fonts on this page are for images, prints and cutting files.
