What a fancy text generator actually does

Nothing here is a font. Every style on this page swaps your letters for other Unicode characters that happen to look bold, cursive, gothic, bubbled, tiny or flipped. Because they are ordinary characters, they paste into any field that accepts text: a bio, a display name, a caption, a comment, a chat message. That is also why some of them vanish: an app that filters characters strips them on save, and the style reverts to plain text.

Type once and the grid converts on every keystroke. Copy a single style from its card, or copy every style at once with the button under the input, each separated by a blank line.

The four families

Cursive styles come from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block: Script, Bold Script, Italic and Bold Italic, plus decorated versions with hearts, stars, sparkles, dots, arrows and brackets. Styled alphabets are the same block's Bold, Sans, Monospace and Double-struck sets, plus Fullwidth and Small Caps. Decorative alphabets are the enclosed and lookalike sets: Bubble Letters, Squared, Parenthesized, Fraktur, Greek and Cyrillic lookalikes. Effects are built from combining marks or mirroring rather than replacement letters: Underline, Strikethrough, Upside Down, Mirrored, Zalgo and Spaced.

Which styles survive

Complete cursive and bold alphabets survive most bio and name fields. Enclosed and lookalike alphabets show as boxes on older devices. Effects made from combining marks are stripped first, and username fields on most apps accept none of them. When to use an image instead

Fancy text is for places that accept text and nothing else. For an invitation, a logo, a print or a tattoo stencil, the font generator renders your text in real cursive fonts and exports PNG or SVG at any size, which reads cleanly where symbol characters would not.
