About Fondamento

Fondamento is a casual handwriting face by Astigmatic, published under the SIL Open Font License. It is unjoined: the letters stand apart, so it reads as handwriting rather than continuous cursive. Its x-height is tall at 48 percent of the em, so the lowercase is large and reads clearly at small sizes. Strokes are plain, with swashes that stay within the letter (swash extent 0.228). The stance is a slight right lean at about 2 degrees. It suits craft projects, social graphics, invitations.

Using Fondamento

Keep Fondamento at 14 point or larger in print and 18 pixels or larger on screen; below that the letter shapes start to blur. Because the letters do not connect, it cuts cleanly on a vinyl cutter and reads well on labels; export SVG for cutting and PNG at 300 DPI for print. Before committing, check the spacing between letters at the size you will use; unjoined faces can look loose in a long word.

The images you make here may be printed, sold on goods and used in logos with no fee or attribution.
