Start with the capital W: two rounded troughs like a wide U, drawn without lifting the pen. The W does not join: lift the pen after it and start the i with its own entry stroke. The i is a short upstroke to the midline and a downstroke back to the baseline; it runs from the baseline straight into the l. The l is a tall loop that returns to the baseline, and the double l is written as one movement. The second l follows without a lift and runs from the baseline straight into the i. The i is written as before; it runs from the baseline straight into the a. The a is an oval closed at the top, then a downstroke on its right side that exits at the baseline; it runs from the baseline straight into the m. The m is three humps drawn from the baseline, each one retracing the last downstroke, and its exit stroke finishes the word.

When the word is finished, go back and dot the i. A common slip in William is making the middle of w as tall as its sides, so it reads as two u's.
